Pentax 645D Wide Frame AF Sensor System Digital SLR Camera
Pentax makes the first medium format digital SLR cameras, Pentax 645D. Pentax 645D offers SAFOX IX + see wide frame AF sensor system with 11 points, 77 segment multi pattern metering, an easy optical viewfinder and DR [Dust Removal] II mechanism.
Great camera sports 40 megapixel CCD image sensor which measures 44mmx33mm, which is about 1.7 times larger than 35 mm sensor. The 645D is equipped with PRIME [PENTAX Real Image Engine] II image engine with high speed data processing and a new algorithm that is programmed specifically for medium format DSLR.
The Pentax 645D has a solid body with a strong but lightweight magnesium alloy steel main frame made of aluminum die cast and dust proof, weather construction. Will be released in May 2010 for about ¥ 850,000. Also introduced is the SMC Pentax-D FA 645 55mmF2.8 AL [IF] SDM Lens AW. [via itechnews]
