Coby Electronic Recall TF DVD 8501 Portable DVD Player

In recent years,the cause of many points on all electronics products,including notebook battery is faulty.A few years back a wide range of notebooks recalled due to faulty batteries caused a fire.Coby Electronics and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have announced a product recall on a Coby portable DVD player.

Coby Electronic Recall TF DVD 8501 Portable DVD Player

The DVD player in question is the Coby DVD/CD/MP3 player with 8.5 inch screen model number TF DVD 8501.The recall applies to all of the rechargeable batteries sold with DVD players that serial numbers beginning with HY have.The serial number is found on a white sticker on the battery itself.

Coby Electronics reports it has received about ten reports of overheating of the battery and resulting in eight fires that caused property damage.No injuries have been reported in these cases.The DVD players are commonly sold online and in stores from January 2007 to September of 2009.Coby says that removing the battery and the contact for a replacement battery.
